The Domain Name System (DNS) is a critical component of the internet infrastructure. It acts as a phone book for the internet, translating human-readable domain names such as- cloudray.life into machine-readable IP addresses that computers use to identify each other. When you type a domain name into your web browser, your computer sends a request to a DNS server to resolve the domain name into an IP address. The DNS server then responds with the IP address, allowing your computer to connect to the website you requested.
For configuring a DNS server in ray device, you can follow the below mentioned steps:
Go to the cluster, which is to be associated with the DNS server.
Step1. Go to Profiles
Step2. Go to Published Profile
Step3. Go to Network Interface
Step4. Click on the action button of the profile, in which DNS is to be configured.
Step5. Then, click on the View button and new pop-up will open.
Step6. Go to DNS option available in the new pop-up.
Step7. You will be provided with two options, 1. The default DNS server
2. The Custom (For manually configuring a DNS server)
Upto 2 DNS servers can be configured in a network interface, as Primary and Secondary.
Then provide a remark for the update.
Step8. Click on Save & Publish and then chose the suitable open further and then click on ok.
This way a DNS server can be configured on a Ray Device.
