RAY WAN Profile Configuration:


In this article, we will cover the creation of a WAN network interface configuration profile.



Below are the summary steps:


  1. Profile menu in the controller
  2. Available profiles menu
  3. Network interface profile
  4. create network interface
  5. Define the Network interface name and type it as WAN in the Definitions.
  6. Under WAN definitions in the configuration select internet (WAN) and enter IP address, gateway, and DNS details from ISP.
  7. In WAN definitions Select Hardware type and Port configuration.
  8. In the advance tab, select gateway mode and select the checkbox to make the profile as default WAN.
  9. Save and publish to save the configuration.

STEP 5


STEP 5 On creating the network interface and defining the type of Network profile as WAN, the configuration Tabs will populate as shown in the steps below. 



STEP 6


Step 6 covers wan configuration, choose the Protocol as per WAN link provider such as DHCP(v4/v6), PPPoE or Static IP. In below image, we have taken example if we need to configure Static IP on WAN interface:




STEP 7:


Step 7 we define the Ray hardware type and Ports configuration 



STEP 8 and 9:


Step 8 allows you to select the Ray appliance mode this profile should apply.

in this example, we selected gateway mode for the Ray Nano and selected this wan profile to be used as the default wan profile.


Step 9 is the final step in which we save and publish the configuration.







This article's configuration setting is based on an example from the Ray edge NANO.
