"Pending jobs" in a network refer to tasks or processes that are waiting to be executed or completed. These jobs have been submitted or initiated but are currently in a queue or holding state, awaiting the necessary resources or conditions to proceed.
The RAY Cloud Controller provides you with multiple options for troubleshooting like Jobs, Audit Logs, Session logs, etc.
In this KB article, we learn about the Jobs option in the RAY Cloud Controller.
What is the 'Jobs' option in the RAY Cloud?
The "jobs" option provides you with Backend activity logs on the RAY cloud. For reference see the below image.
>>Go to cluster/Child cluster > Jobs
After Clicking on the Jobs, you will see multiple options there. For time-saving, you can customize the search.
Use the details you have, for example, Addresses, Serial no., Dates, and select types of jobs to fetch the pieces of information.
The job's status explains the backend activity. The job status is of five types which are explained below.
FAILED- The activity is failed in the backend, click on the three dots below the action button and click on view, to see the cause of failure.
PENDING- If the device is not able to communicate with the cloud, a job queue is created, once the device is successfully connected to the cloud, these will be pushed to be executed.
IGNORED- If there made configurations are not compatible, they will be ignored. By clicking on the three dots below the action button, then on view, you will be able to see the cause for ignoring the job.
Received- When the job is received at the node, for implementation.
FINISHED- When the job is successfully implemented on the device.
By clicking on the action button, it provides the full details about the particular job log. Simply you have to click on the three dots below the action button and click on the view option, for reference see the below image.
For reference, you can see the below image for full information about a particular job
what if the Pending jobs increased randomly?
After checking logs, it seems that the jobs increase frequently. see the below screenshot for reference:
If the device is not able to communicate with the RAY Cloud. the following could be the reasons
1. The power on/off is the major issue of frequent increases in pending jobs.
It seems that the access point is rebooted very frequently and because of that job queues are created for previously pending jobs, and this way the count of pending jobs increases unexpectedly.
2. The RAY device is unable to connect to the internet.
Make sure to configure(Physically, and logically) the RAY device, so that it can have internet connectivity.
Note:- For reference, you can see the LED status. To learn more about RAY device LED follow the below link.
