Ray Cloud & Connectivity
Ray is a cloud-native controller.
Ray has two primary components, The RayOS that runs on your Ray Access Point locally and the Ray cloud that runs on the cloud.
Ray cloud components is deployed in a highly scalable and redundant AWS (Amazon Web Services) Cloud Infrastructure. Doing this ensures much higher resiliency and uptime.
The simplest way to represent the connectivity architecture is as below
The Ray AP requires the Ray controller to perform the below functions
- provisioning the AP
- creating & syncing profiles
- Upgrading of firmware
Let us evaluate all the possibilities/scenarios related to the 3 variables involved.
Possibility | AP | Internet (AP To ISP) | Ray Cloud | User Internet Experience | User Intranet Experience | User Internet Experience | User Intranet Experience |
