Advertisement Captive portal
The Advertisement Captive portal is a type of portal that can let the user enable the Internet service based on the advertisement they watch or read.
For instance, when the user is trying to connect to public Wi-Fi and an advertisement video pops up and after the certain time duration of an advertisement completion, the user will be able to enjoy the Internet services.
To enable this type of captive portal, please follow the below-given steps.
Step 1
Create the Ray Account and set up your first AP. Please follow the steps here, First-time setup of Ray
Step 2
Login to Cloud Controller using your username & password on https://cloud.ray.life/
Step 3
Click on the Captive Portals menu.
Click on the portals Sub Menu.
Click on +Create Portal.
Step 4.
A popup Window will show up indicating different Pre Authentication options.
Select the Advertise button and save.
Step 5
Click on the authentication type of your liking.
There are different authentication methods available, but for this setup, we will use the click to login authentication type.
Step 6
Select the TEMPLATE(S) Button and choose the business category.
Step 7. Set the Portal name, business category
The venue ID field is the location of the advertisement server where the image and video ads are hosted.
You can contact us to get a demo account for the advertisement server.
A permanent account is created for you from where you can upload all your ads on purchase of the license and the Ray access point.
Step 8. Set the Welcome message and URL of the Captive portal

You can check the preview of the captive login page.
After completion of the advertisement, the video user can access the Internet service.
Step 10. WLAN profile publishing
Publishing Wi-Fi
Go to Profiles ->> Wlan
Input the below details.
Profile Name. Give a proper name to the WLAN profile.
Description of the Wlan Profile.
Definition. From the dropdown, select the Captive Portal.
Captive Portal. Select the Captive Portal Template created.
Plans. Select the Group created.
Network Interface. By default, the WLAN is Bridged to the WAN Interface.
Press Submit.
