By default, each LAN interface/network when created, a new dedicated zone is created for that particular network interface, and it gets restricted access. But for WAN, all WAN interfaces are part of a WAN zone. If we have to create separate WAN zones for separate WAN network interfaces, we can create one for each by selecting “create new firewall zone.”

To Configure the WAN network interface for outbound traffic, follow the below steps.

1. Go to Profiles and then go to Network Interface in sub-menu.
2. Click on +Create Network Interface.
3. Fill all the basic details like Profile name, description, and definitions.

4. Select WAN in the definitions.

5. Scroll down and select outbound forwarding rules.

6. In the outbound forward rules Click in the checkbox to create the new firewall zone and enable outbound forwarding.
7. In Interface allow the suitable network interface. To configure multiple interfaces, click on the plus + button.
8. Click on the save button. See the below image as a reference.
