In a wireless network, a radio channel refers to a specific frequency band that is used for transmitting and receiving data wirelessly. These channels are part of the radio spectrum and are used by devices such as routers, access points, and wireless clients to communicate with each other. In the context of Wi-Fi networks, different Wi-Fi standards (such as 802.11n, 802.11ac, etc.) operate on specific frequency bands and use different channels within those bands for communication. For example, the 2.4 GHz band typically has channels numbered from 1 to 11 (in the US), while the 5 GHz band has more channels available for use. Selecting the right channel can help minimize interference and optimize wireless performance in a network.

Ray Wi-Fi Access Point has RRM and DCS which automatically choose the best channels available post scanning the environment periodically and continuously.

To change the channel manually follow the below steps.

1. Go to appliances, then select the appliance whose channel is to be selected manually.

2. Click on the three dots under the action button of the device whose channel is to be selected manually.

3. Click on the Appliance profiles, a new screen will pop-up.

4. Go to Radio and click on + Create Radio.

5. Provide a Profile name, Description, select a hardware and select the definition as per the hardware supported.

6. Select the region.

7. Go to 2.4/5Ghz configuration and Select- Manual for Channel mode and provide a channel number.

Then click on Save button.

This way, you would be able to select manual channels for your Wireless Device.
