SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is a protocol used for monitoring and managing network devices (like routers, switches, servers, and printers) in an IP network. Configuring SNMP allows you to monitor the performance and status of devices remotely using SNMP management tools.
- Go to Application Settings under Profiles Tab:
- Log into your Cloud Controller.
- Home Page > Profiles > Appliance Settings
- Select SNMP Configuration
- To save the customized settings, give a name to the setting and select Appliance under definitions.
- Select the SNMP Configuration tab.
- There are two versions of SNMP configurations,
- SNMP v2
- SNMPv2c: Adds bulk data transfer but still unencrypted.
- Enter the community string for security.
- SNMP v3
- SNMPv3: Secure, with authentication and encryption.
- Enter the username, password and select the security level for the device.
- SNMP v2
- Go to the Advance Tab:
- To select for which device the setting is applicable, scroll down to Advance Tab.
- Open the advance tab and under the section "Applicable For" a drop-down menu will appear from which you can select which device this configuration is applicable for.
- To select for which device the setting is applicable, scroll down to Advance Tab.
- Save the Setting:
- Once the device has been configured according to your requirements, save the configuration by clicking save.
