What is DHCP Lease Time?

DHCP Lease Time is the amount of time a device (client) is allowed to use a specific IP address assigned by the DHCP server before it must renew the lease.

When a client connects to the network, the DHCP server assigns it an IP address along with a lease time — after which the client must request to renew or release the address.

Steps 1: Navigate to the Profiles section, select Network Interface, then click View/Edit.

Steps 2 :   Enter the DHCP lease time as per your requirement and then save your changes.

Summary

  • DHCP Lease Time defines how long a device can use an assigned IP.
  • Choose lease duration based on network size, client type, and stability.
  • Balancing lease time helps maintain a healthy, efficient IP address pool.
