When a Ray appliance cannot obtain a dynamic IP address or requires Static/PPPoE Configuration to get access to the internet, The Ray console is the method used to configure this settings.
The Ray console is a default management interface that can be accessed through a default SSID broadcasted by a Ray access point that has no access to the Ray cloud controller.
the Default SSID follows a naming convention of " WiFi28b77cxxxxxx" where xxxxxx is the mac address of the access point.
the default password for the SSID is the Mac address of the access point in all small letters.
and on succesfully connecting to the SSID, the user should open 192.168.33.33 on their web browser to access the web console.
The desirable status should be green as indicated below.
The troubleshooting steps to be taken in case of hub working (red status) include:
- Verifying the data communication and port 443 are open on the firewall
- Compare the Ray MAC address that matches the IP address on the firewall is the correctly whitelisted MAC address mapped on the firewall as the Ray appliance can have different MAC addresses for the multiple interfaces,
Troubleshooting steps to be taken in case of Controller not reachable (red status) include:
- Verify the Mqtt protocol is allowed and port 8884 is open on the firewall.
- Verify URL mqttcloud.ray.life on port 8884 has been permitted and is accessible on the firewall.
Troubleshooting steps for certificates not present (red status) on the console as shown in image above.
First of all verify the above preceeding steps have passed and have green status as certificates are fetched from the ray hub.
- First step to resolve a certificate not present in the Ray console is a simple appliance reboot.
- Secondly if the certificate not present (red status ) persists, kindly raise a ticket at Support.ray.life and a certificate will be regenerated for you.
Note: Hard resetting the Ray appliance will cause it to lose its certificates and connectivity to the cloud. A new certificate can be regenerated for your appliance by raising a ticket at support.ray.life
Thanks
